8 Bream no Tench 29 June 2013

It was nice to get out today after not fishing last week.I never heard my alarm this morning, lol.I arrived at the water at 5.15am,car park empty.I was travelling light, bucket, bag ,mat and carrying my rods, trouble was i was travelling to light,i was half way to my swim when i realised no landing net pole.I had 2 options,go home or use a bankstick i use for my camera.I turned round and walked back to the van,i was sure i had a pole behind the seat, and yes i did, well half a one, that,ll do.Lets get fishing.....I set up and fished exactly the way i did the other week.I had made a mix up of micro,s,bloodworm pellet, groundbait, crushed boilie, hemp and castor. My aim was 6 balls in each swim and top up when the fish arrived.I fished boilie on one rod and pellet on the other, boillie out fished the pellet this week 6-2.I banked a total of 8 bream, biggest being 5 pounds.A very enjoyable day and unless the river rises i will be back.Tight Lines...................

Found the Tinca Tinca,s

Well the last few trips for tench has ended in blanks,so it was back to the drawing board and a change of tactic,s on water no 2,failure isnt an option.I could of fished elsewhere today but chose to return,i wont be beaten.I woke early to see grey skies and what looked like it was going to be a day under the umbrella.I arrived at the lake to see i was the only one to park up,that,ll do me i thought.I made my way to the spot i wanted, set up and mixed my bait.I,d chosen to go with maryuku 131 with Maryuku 1mm chomped pellet to bulk it out and a few crushed boilie.Hook baits were boillie and corn.I decided to cast regular ,stick with boilie and switch the other rod to other bait.My first take came to my short rod on boilie,a Tench of 5.13 that only had one eye.It wasnt long before i was into another Tench and beat my pb again 6 on the dot, caught on a halibut pellet.I had a few bream aswell and lost a couple .All in all a good day, really pleased
i changed tactics,Now off to the river.Tight lines....................

Korum Supa-Lite Chair

Well my nash chair finally packed up and was uncomfortable and legs wouldnt extend, basicaly worn out.Id been on the look out for a new one. A trip to Fishing Republic to have a sit on the chairs they have in stock, plenty to choose from..I sat on quite a few and was really impressed with the new preston feeder chair and the nash daddy long legs, well the comfort of feeder fishing off the prestons would be awesome and if i were a carper the nash for just relaxing and watching the world go by,but for being on the move, niether any good to me.I.d sat on the new Korum roving chair a few weeks earlier and it wasnt for me,then i spotted the new Korum supa-lite chair, light like me old nash, carrrying it no problem, whether moving swims or on the river,my mind was made up and i purchased one.And its comfy aswell...Tight Lines.....

Nash Deliverance Ballmaker 40mm

I saw these in action at the tackle show in manchester and was impressed. They were not selling them at the show, which was a low blow on nashy,s part.Anyway i bought one yesterday and instead of making balls with my hands this will save me time and a perfect size everytime.I will post how i get on after Tmos.

E.S.P Mega Method Feeder And Mould

I went to the tackle shop yesterday to have another look at these feeders.I was impressed with the size compared to using say a match type inline feeder.I purchased the 2oz size.I have got these for my Tench fishing.the water im fishing ive used maggot feeders and Drennan feeders that you mould the bait round, and have only produced Bream. My idea round these is to use groundbait in the feeder, hookbaits corn and boillie.I think with regular casting i can get some bait down, also a few balls fired out with the catapult. Will post a picure of it set up Tmos,Tight Lines............................

Coarse & Predator Charity Match Beacon View Saturday 8th June 2013

I cannot believe how quick its gone since we started planning the charity match in aid of Henshaws society for the Blind. We were hoping for 20 anglers this year,as it got nearer a few decided for there own reasons they couldnt make it,so we settled for 15,a nice number to deal with.On the day 14 fished and one didnt come due to being ill.Graham the venue owner pegged it out for us and we had pegs 3-17,leaving the obvious ones out,the moaners pegs i call em,lol. We were all in for 9-10,the weather was warm ,i tried everything, pole dead depth,up in the water, cage feeder and i was well struggling, even the pellet wag was useless and i couldnt have tried any harder.it wasnt until the last half hour i had 2 commons for a total weight of 9.8,at least it wasnt a blank.All-out was 3-10pm,glad to shout it,was warm all day not a good fishing day at all.We packed up and now time for the weigh in.Only 3 didnt weigh so wasnt to bad........................
The winner next to me in peg 9..................................

Brian to my right in peg 11,a good laugh and was 2nd last year, weighed 15.1.close but no cigar.....

River Season,Barbel Time 7th June 2013

Just under 9 days before the river season kicks off.New stretches to explore and im really looking forward to getting back on the river. With all this warm weather were having at the moment, the river is low and clear. We need some rain before i get on there,or will be fishing in the evening. As usual free running rigs, lead or feeder, pellet and boilie baits again.I havnt had any success on boillie ,so for the last few months ive soaked my boilies in sardine oil and lamprey oil to enhance the flavour and maybe give me an edge and let the flavours ooze out into the flow and draw them barbel to my baits.Hoping for a double figure barbel this season,if not any size will do.Ive scaled down my bag and out with the tackle box and in with two small compartment boxs.Good luck to all you river anglers..............................Tight Lines
On the left, soaked in lamprey oil,on the right soaked in sardine oil,all drained off now.

Love these little fox rig boards,as you can see made four rigs already.Length between 2-4 foot.

Tench Session 1 st June 2013

So it was back out after the tench at venue no 2 again. Was expecting a warm day, well it was if you were sat in the sun.Arrived just after 5-30 am to find i wasnt up early enough for the pegs i wanted.I headed to a peg id caught bream in last year.My approach today was maggot feeders, one rig with fake corn maggot, the other helicopter rig,2 real maggots and a piece of yellow foam to pop it up,shaped like a maggot.I clipped both rods up,one at 30 yrds the other 40 yrds.Regular casting throughout the morning produced nothing. The sun was behind the trees and i wasnt really warm at all, typical 1 june weather.I went for a walk at 11-30 and found the pegs i wanted were free, packed up and moved. The wind was a problem today,a cross wind that plays havoc when casting. It wasnt long before i banked a Bream of 4.7 lb,on the helicopter rig.I stayed in the peg for an hour ,but wasnt happy,so i moved again for the last 3 hours of my session, which no other fish came to the mat..Looking forward to my next session,Tight Lines.............
