Bradshaw Hall Fishery 20-4-24

 Today was the memorial match for Lee Martin. We usually fish lake 3 but have changed to Lake 4.I drew peg 6.Would have preferred to of fished the wall side but it is what it is .I started out on the method feeder and had 3 carp for the first hour .It was over cast at times with the sun trying to break through at times .with the overnight frost the fishing was slow even though the temps were warmer as the day went on .I decided to fish the slow sinking feeder but this time it let me down .Id set up my pole to fish 13m and was using a slapping rig and managed a nice carp. But that was it .So I went back on bomb & pellet and that’s when the fish started to come , but not often enough .I caught a couple of decent carp , nice common and a nice mirror .As the match was ending the weather was getting real warm , typical

A good day and I may of missed some ounces for the others lol.

Missed Bites 10-2-24

 My intended target today was perch again.I picked up some lobworms Friday before they closed at the tackle shop.I arrived at the lake and headed to my swim. It was overcast with a slight breeze with a nice ripple on the water.I normally only fish one rod on my feeder chair, but today I decided I was going to fish 2 float rods, one on my chair and one to the left of me. I was feeder maggots and chopped up lobs with lob worm hookbait cut down.

Can you see my float .On the rod on bank sticks I got a few lifts and dips during the day and by the time I got of my chair lifted my rod they were gone , it was frustrating as this happened numerous times .Throughout the day I fed reds and chopped lobs into both swims .

Then at about 3-20 my left float rod went and I connected into a nice perch .

I didn’t weigh it but very close to 2lb from past catches .Well pleased to be off the mark.Straight after my other float dipped and I had a small one followed by another small one .

I’ve been using this Korum baitwaiter and it’s great replacement for a side tray. Takes up no room in my bag. Will do a review on it soon .

Perch 7-1-24

 Happy new year to everyone .Decided to meet up with Chris and get as he says the Dream Team back together.We were after Perch and decided to try a new area on the lake . I picked up plenty of red maggots and worms and Chris got the lone and prawns .It was a bright day but the sun stayed behind the trees and it felt cold all day . We both fished 2 rods, me 2 float rods and Chris a float rod and a ledger rod . 

I was fishing right under the rod tip on one rod and the other was in the margin beyond some reeds .As the day wore on the temps were dropping and I was beginning to wish I’d put two pairs of socks .At least the coffee in my new flask stayed hot .The decision was made to stay till dark .Our efforts were not rewarded and it was a blank .
