Well where is the best place to start again . The River .I thought with the Manchester Derby the stretch I went to wouldn’t be busy .I managed a swim I’ve fished before , but not for barbel.I fished two rods, one with pellet and one with boilie.One decent sized cage feeder and a large maggot feeder . I has a mixture of 1,2,3 and 4mm pellets hoping to get them feeding . Wasn’t long after the first cast a small chub to the net . There wasn’t really much wed coming down just small bits , the level could have been a bit higher for me , but its good to be back .The next chub fell to my left hand rod, around 4lb . As the light was beginning to fade I had another one on my right hand rod , yet another good one about 4lb .As darknes fell I’d recast a few more times hoping for the barbel to turn up .My right hand rod went and another small chub .
