I picked up plenty of red maggots and worms and Chris got the lone and prawns .It was a bright day but the sun stayed behind the trees and it felt cold all day . We both fished 2 rods, me 2 float rods and Chris a float rod and a ledger rod . </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgANbxRXDs8LKEtsE7fw56n09252yWtl-m03Bq2hzoxHZeIC6BVj9p5AMBl3fSDrx9GDvQh8Vt90hi_ZwYJ5m9DqksY4lWOZ1Dhtx9oFAnnlBZ8RkZzjmSpscEM9HSzVucO50TSQcXZjPkO6M2LnaOpWNUguHb5BB11l1SFneQxhQZA8D4QBxv3nc1Cp28/s4032/IMG_2074.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgANbxRXDs8LKEtsE7fw56n09252yWtl-m03Bq2hzoxHZeIC6BVj9p5AMBl3fSDrx9GDvQh8Vt90hi_ZwYJ5m9DqksY4lWOZ1Dhtx9oFAnnlBZ8RkZzjmSpscEM9HSzVucO50TSQcXZjPkO6M2LnaOpWNUguHb5BB11l1SFneQxhQZA8D4QBxv3nc1Cp28/s320/IMG_2074.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>I was fishing right under the rod tip on one rod and the other was in the margin beyond some reeds .As the day wore on the temps were dropping and I was beginning to wish I’d put two pairs of socks .At least the coffee in my new flask stayed hot .The decision was made to stay till dark .Our efforts were not rewarded and it was a blank .</p><p>Till the next time , stay safe .</p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-90568513165632009792023-10-25T12:57:00.001-07:002023-10-25T12:57:44.359-07:00Perch 22-10-23<p> I’ve really struggled this year to get out fishing as much as I want . I decided to go perch fishing who doesn’t love a stripy. My method would be float rod and centre pin , bait lobworms and red maggots . I was torn between two swims and chose the one I knew capable of a lump .The swims are between 9-12 foot deep.I use a Polaris float in these situations , the float either lifts or dips .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqVyRB2ZE4E4K2v9zmfikFKb82t8IsN5fW39aQj-dsM0qE_MKFZL3kIEwZLA2Encj7cPOdnK0zkDpvOYPl2qxYxGXwbo5nnHrt4ZRwLSkPabb53Cf8TjNz_V62iRLgsIvbrqLW686iUA5Lb1r1MpcyEKY0DRe77h_TiVex_5-96tKjFUaIv2H43QVzyQ/s3454/IMG_1884.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3454" data-original-width="2962" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqVyRB2ZE4E4K2v9zmfikFKb82t8IsN5fW39aQj-dsM0qE_MKFZL3kIEwZLA2Encj7cPOdnK0zkDpvOYPl2qxYxGXwbo5nnHrt4ZRwLSkPabb53Cf8TjNz_V62iRLgsIvbrqLW686iUA5Lb1r1MpcyEKY0DRe77h_TiVex_5-96tKjFUaIv2H43QVzyQ/s320/IMG_1884.jpeg" width="274" /></a></div><br /><p>It was a bright day at times, plenty of fish topping and the odd fish jumping from pike.At around 12 I decided to put another float rod out just a bit closer . The rod is a korum glide 11ft which was a gift , with matching centrepin . Same bait and same tactics. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzZIO0yoKDVmdA5YE3PFo_s3RyMAfvh4L-oejp5iM5mOx-lTtIFYts7jbP6sMn7wYWC0FbvTnuqoN637ohgCh_O9M9bdBmi56v9JR28RqrztEocTaiArNBdiA_fXaeW2_4GXFMe7jJOeTmuwxND8qC83WAQmMMuhNkTJLTh2670Z_2N4xOU9Geqw5NXk/s4032/IMG_1892.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzZIO0yoKDVmdA5YE3PFo_s3RyMAfvh4L-oejp5iM5mOx-lTtIFYts7jbP6sMn7wYWC0FbvTnuqoN637ohgCh_O9M9bdBmi56v9JR28RqrztEocTaiArNBdiA_fXaeW2_4GXFMe7jJOeTmuwxND8qC83WAQmMMuhNkTJLTh2670Z_2N4xOU9Geqw5NXk/s320/IMG_1892.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>This fella was driving me mad , trie for my maggots , I gave him some of my sandwich 😄.By afternoon the sun disappeared and I had 3 successive bites on the new rod . 2 under a 1lb and a wasp.I packed up at 4-30 as I had to get stuff prepared for work , wish I could of stayed later .<div>Till the next time , Tight lines .<br /><p><br /></p></div>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-47327755629758609672023-10-02T13:42:00.001-07:002023-10-02T13:42:10.838-07:00Moss Farm 24-9-23<p> Well this is probably the last match of the season for me .We fished April’s Field side .Not a great draw for me peg 7. Decided to fish 2 plus 2 on the pole , margin and far bank with small method and the bomb . I drew peg 7 on the car park side .I had a plan and didn’t stick to it .my main attack was 14.5m far bank , slapping because it was warm , and fish margin last hour .How wrong could it be .</p><p>My long line I could see carps backs out of the water and couldn’t get a bite . I switched to slapping after one and a half hours and caught one carp. All through the match I fed groundbait , hemp and corn .I ended up going on the bomb , I was catching small carp. I switched to a method feeder and was catching a better stamp.Where did the time go, by the time I’d gone in the margin it was all out .</p><p>Here’s some pics and results </p><p>Steve 62lb </p><p>Darren 38lb 10</p><p>Me 12 lb 8</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; First mistake was not making rigs long enough for the far bank. I started on the jigger , tried everything in the swims and nothing .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg44QVe9qrVEBR34Ymwz34xx2Lj9t1ZwbOqcsfzP1JY8pWf_6BPC6JSA_j0J24a9o4X3mUjXeSEq40kvzWZ1YgPHqZL30-0VrqWGSm60auUfBcKbXOsBHC74v1-FK_hoIZ40WfmGOIKs-IZYK2V8HPYQnO3ljUrrAkINEH5SuoV8nbk-cqQjr0ewXAO9JY/s4032/IMG_1702.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg44QVe9qrVEBR34Ymwz34xx2Lj9t1ZwbOqcsfzP1JY8pWf_6BPC6JSA_j0J24a9o4X3mUjXeSEq40kvzWZ1YgPHqZL30-0VrqWGSm60auUfBcKbXOsBHC74v1-FK_hoIZ40WfmGOIKs-IZYK2V8HPYQnO3ljUrrAkINEH5SuoV8nbk-cqQjr0ewXAO9JY/s320/IMG_1702.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>One thing I didn’t like was the muddy looking water . I started of on bomb and pellet , in the first hour I managed one carp and a lost carp .The weather was windy or sunny ,nice chop on the water .At 11am I decided I was going to abandon the tip rods and try the jigga float .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL64fMLxl4ssI_D60GGq-Oji5Sise7BA7TI6P7AhHDb4_hKUu3-O24I2Rnc8urJkz8eQDuNSpgdl7jYQKqOGo3Mpz4GRShv3Zs5w-Zpw5oda9NQScAa5BGQacZG3JehHmK9nxFIJJErzq-l8yndZ4xeIC7WivfXgKpDgMNGwkS0UJdzN9oyta7PFGh/s4032/32A570EF-3959-4926-A48D-1DE8E696387D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL64fMLxl4ssI_D60GGq-Oji5Sise7BA7TI6P7AhHDb4_hKUu3-O24I2Rnc8urJkz8eQDuNSpgdl7jYQKqOGo3Mpz4GRShv3Zs5w-Zpw5oda9NQScAa5BGQacZG3JehHmK9nxFIJJErzq-l8yndZ4xeIC7WivfXgKpDgMNGwkS0UJdzN9oyta7PFGh/s320/32A570EF-3959-4926-A48D-1DE8E696387D.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGJ7D6izkJBMK9HrZpXmFoGU5NvFGIW5Cz-5LEHWEeY2SeKF7a6rIIGkPljaGfYJssuSVesL0nUZywv6ORcxxC-Y7A7hsogSfTp-N_-UWLiAJycn08lPw4LJynPGvBSww5SdXJnOkDZNyaqnLDW4goiDuhySsFgQqjqkE5S-0gJUg4Jp8RtdTQLlhy/s4032/481813E6-C519-4964-A53A-DFE900113618.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGJ7D6izkJBMK9HrZpXmFoGU5NvFGIW5Cz-5LEHWEeY2SeKF7a6rIIGkPljaGfYJssuSVesL0nUZywv6ORcxxC-Y7A7hsogSfTp-N_-UWLiAJycn08lPw4LJynPGvBSww5SdXJnOkDZNyaqnLDW4goiDuhySsFgQqjqkE5S-0gJUg4Jp8RtdTQLlhy/s320/481813E6-C519-4964-A53A-DFE900113618.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiHyfLk04a4lfL8o24tkVXDc0Z6evspJuxejlPCKOmCoP46XgLCxAMjwGpSAP3Y6tWpRU3HMM6OGGesRen3RXrdSQsQpYC0hsRRx-YznFR4jVgs4doMfJW7yB9BwnmDWWPQAiz7eo0u3cNYamI9wmI9Y-9qTdTcrWWSlk2XUs7wcGxwWwFUNDgMFmp/s4032/57324093-A492-4492-BA67-01D54651D676.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiHyfLk04a4lfL8o24tkVXDc0Z6evspJuxejlPCKOmCoP46XgLCxAMjwGpSAP3Y6tWpRU3HMM6OGGesRen3RXrdSQsQpYC0hsRRx-YznFR4jVgs4doMfJW7yB9BwnmDWWPQAiz7eo0u3cNYamI9wmI9Y-9qTdTcrWWSlk2XUs7wcGxwWwFUNDgMFmp/s320/57324093-A492-4492-BA67-01D54651D676.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-kLknuYzTUCZDRW8dI6nrqq1vlEZbmQiUTAbL5u8BLnH45RXIIgI95acVx3sCQyyqA39CW7sgzoX-VW_eq05th1_oBM7DEjMJx4yyFJ_y6-jk4ODXjvLxk8sP2S3gmfPcOctJvlO4P3cotw-e9cxTvqcCIqbz1Kw05IrcDS1Y9Gpy8c-3IFWqnVyZ/s4032/BF4AABDA-C984-4FE0-AFF0-B2F176B78EAD.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-kLknuYzTUCZDRW8dI6nrqq1vlEZbmQiUTAbL5u8BLnH45RXIIgI95acVx3sCQyyqA39CW7sgzoX-VW_eq05th1_oBM7DEjMJx4yyFJ_y6-jk4ODXjvLxk8sP2S3gmfPcOctJvlO4P3cotw-e9cxTvqcCIqbz1Kw05IrcDS1Y9Gpy8c-3IFWqnVyZ/s320/BF4AABDA-C984-4FE0-AFF0-B2F176B78EAD.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-6lfORWmdm3zSS4F-1oAVzuteJIJ-J3XskUE2W4vxuyrJe9UwK1-ttXgFW5pMnOEa31hHcfsaXxTP7W0_htPYfWUVhnKH5kEKSBvVKMn0c9R6DXhQbJpMYn6RzrnR1bBM0vCKz9hGa8bdEF-1ydYOCgxPv6-uNYF9bRnBBcjBWeUaP3I4KCljla9d/s4032/DC7C3D8E-A959-4530-8E82-5A32F9FE388B.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-6lfORWmdm3zSS4F-1oAVzuteJIJ-J3XskUE2W4vxuyrJe9UwK1-ttXgFW5pMnOEa31hHcfsaXxTP7W0_htPYfWUVhnKH5kEKSBvVKMn0c9R6DXhQbJpMYn6RzrnR1bBM0vCKz9hGa8bdEF-1ydYOCgxPv6-uNYF9bRnBBcjBWeUaP3I4KCljla9d/s320/DC7C3D8E-A959-4530-8E82-5A32F9FE388B.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I started catching straight away with a bream then a roach then a steady amount of carp. I’m on my 5th Plank at the moment fishing various parts of the lake trying to find carp with no sightings it’s been difficult but I’m enjoying it whatever the session long or short .I started of in a bay that joins the narrow part of the lake where it joins the larger side ,it’s a fairly long walk and I’m travelling as light as possible .I’m hoping as we get going into summer I can find them ,I’m rather impatient sat behind bite alarms for a long length of time .Where the narrow part meets the bend of the lake really appeals to me and keeps dragging me back , my last session was on the main lake .Chris has joined me on a couple of occasions .I’m hoping to get back up soon and get the marker float out and discover all the depths , that’s my next session to try to unlock the res .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgqldV6C_AQ7tjCidGa2G7WE2UTIE-mUXsz6zHXyg21WsZv424zpnjVc6BQjb-KcvgIg7h3dJcFwmKc-47eo5bPWgudrGShXDLWUj6MHcW67jEuSwb1iWak2S89O6XAVgde0jD6mBemwuvJHikiJekRO5EoyuO8aHYk5Xl6egwRz-yawmMWwJm6L1Q/s4032/A9E2079D-5664-4D7D-93B9-835DEE60CF71.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgqldV6C_AQ7tjCidGa2G7WE2UTIE-mUXsz6zHXyg21WsZv424zpnjVc6BQjb-KcvgIg7h3dJcFwmKc-47eo5bPWgudrGShXDLWUj6MHcW67jEuSwb1iWak2S89O6XAVgde0jD6mBemwuvJHikiJekRO5EoyuO8aHYk5Xl6egwRz-yawmMWwJm6L1Q/s320/A9E2079D-5664-4D7D-93B9-835DEE60CF71.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>This was from my first session , lovely bay where the main lake meets the narrow arm .</p><p>I’m on a match tmos , so till the next time ,Stay safe .</p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-76068489087397867692022-04-11T13:53:00.002-07:002022-04-11T13:53:41.210-07:00Breaking surface v F1 Boys 9-4-22<p> So todays match by Breaking surface as a Charity match against the F1 Boys , this will be 2 matches with all proceeds donated to charity .The match today was held at Bradshaw Hall Fishery in Lake 4.With an overnight frost I didn’t know what to expect today .The pegs being used were the roadside pegs and on the causeway.I drew peg 12 .When I arrived at my peg the wind was blowing down my end , I decided to set 2 rods up , one pellet feeder the other bomb and pellet .in the first hour I’d managed 1 F1 and bumped 2 fish off. The wind was cold today with the sun making brief appearances which was nice for a warm .I managed another couple of skimmers ,ide and a bream an another F1.Bites we’re taking a long time hence I was leaving the pellet feeder out longer .at around 1pm I can only say this was going to be the coldest hour of the day , with hail and wind .I decided to change over to the method feeder for the last hour .I managed a nice mirror and 4 more F1,s.At all out I’m was relieved .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I always find it a waiting game and being patient is the key to success on here as you never know what size perch you going to hook .I use a size 8 hook as I don’t want to be catching smaller perch only out for the bigger ones .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--17-KTTcisk/YZpEIRb6PwI/AAAAAAAADUc/7CsmHg4ya4wlxfOjrmAY96YqRQEckAL4ACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/62CB8D54-E524-4C17-8307-51807AE645E9.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--17-KTTcisk/YZpEIRb6PwI/AAAAAAAADUc/7CsmHg4ya4wlxfOjrmAY96YqRQEckAL4ACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/62CB8D54-E524-4C17-8307-51807AE645E9.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>The robin was a busy chap keeping me company through the day I kept him topped up with maggots .As the afternoon wore on the wind picked up and had a couple of indications on the float .At around 2-45 you could see the drizzle coming across the middle of the lake and I was thinking no umbrella ,but hey unless it chucks it down I’m in it to win it . At around 3pm my first bite , and it was a proper one .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-riHRW353IXM/YZpE8WdKmKI/AAAAAAAADUk/dQsfWFdcM945hBiboAHJ5MEd_RgnbtPbgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/3FEA5FDA-DC0F-4024-8EE6-81D5871BE349.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1582" data-original-width="2048" height="247" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-riHRW353IXM/YZpE8WdKmKI/AAAAAAAADUk/dQsfWFdcM945hBiboAHJ5MEd_RgnbtPbgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/3FEA5FDA-DC0F-4024-8EE6-81D5871BE349.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I didn’t weigh it but was pleased over a pound and what I came for even though I’d like a 3LB one lol.As the day finished mist was coming across the lake and as darkness fell I returned to the van wet but dry underneath .</p><p>Till the next time , stay Safe .</p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-47869792389387157212021-11-09T15:29:00.002-08:002021-11-09T15:29:58.011-08:00Will the river drop in time 7-11-21<p> So I’d made arrangements with Chris to bring the dream team back together .We had to have a back up for this feeder session , the plan was if the river wasn’t falling Sunday morning we’d go to a local Resovoir . Well it was so we headed to the river meeting in the car park to decide where we’d fish . The pegs we had in mind had been washed away due to flooding and the level wasn’t accessible so we went another 50 yards down stream and sorted out pegs . Early doors Chris was into plenty of dace and I had only a dace and minnow for my efforts .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4RuahgQ7OHQ/YYsCo101p_I/AAAAAAAADT4/ixEcyE_5BeI6gTiiAwN0ZY8yG9H0LKxmQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/C278DE76-FF10-4A7F-A6B0-0B91333D7AEE.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4RuahgQ7OHQ/YYsCo101p_I/AAAAAAAADT4/ixEcyE_5BeI6gTiiAwN0ZY8yG9H0LKxmQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/C278DE76-FF10-4A7F-A6B0-0B91333D7AEE.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Chris watching his tip like a hawk .My catch rate was improving as the river was dropping but now Chris had a nice grayling . The wind was playing havoc on my quivertip so I tightened it up to show either a drop back or the slightest movement .I was catching lots of minnows and dace in between .The wind was getting really feisty now .It was perfect conditions but where were the chub I said to Chris . Chris had to leave at 12 and I carried on fishing for another 2 hours .I managed a grayling also , but the dace and minnows kept coming .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1VU-qaivNDM/YYsD_gD7-fI/AAAAAAAADUA/kMcQQPCF-aoapyq3WW-mB_NLJokKp_bxACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/22494806-4B6F-4711-B37F-8AF28E65A77A.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1VU-qaivNDM/YYsD_gD7-fI/AAAAAAAADUA/kMcQQPCF-aoapyq3WW-mB_NLJokKp_bxACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/22494806-4B6F-4711-B37F-8AF28E65A77A.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>Look closely even a minnow swam into my feeder for freebies , how sneaky . This was a session I needed as I haven’t been out as much and was nice to be out with Chris again .</p><p>Tight lines, till the next time , Stay safe </p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-65298406621833126262021-10-01T11:39:00.003-07:002021-10-01T11:39:56.323-07:00Moss Farm Fishery 30-9-22<p> I got invited on another match with crescent angling club .Lovely day with occasional clouds and sunshine .I drew Peg 9 .I plumbed up two swims , one at 10 metres and one at 2+2 . I would be feeding 4mm pellets and fishing corn .I decided for the first hour I would fish bomb and pellet .</p><p>It took just over 15 minutes for my first carp , then disaster hand balling the carp to my keepnet it managed to wriggle and I dropped it in the water . Not a great start .</p><p>I Managed another 2 carp in the hour then went on the pole . The 11 metre line was proving tough then I noticed after a while my float was sitting right , somehow it was tangled near the hook length ,I tried to sort it and couldn’t so I went on my other line .This line was proving tough also ,back to the tip and a couple more carp then back on the pole .Then another disaster , my float shot under carp on and it was off like a rocket taking a lot of elastic, I managed to gain control and then the hook pulled at the net and the rig went up a tree.I could see down the bank other anglers caring so an all out attack on the tip was where I started catching again , I had a bream and 4 more carp. All out and from a brief chat I may have framed a place .</p><p>1st place Alan 32-14</p><p>2nd place Kevin 30-4</p><p>3rd place me 25-1</p><p>I need to get my act together now we’ve had rain and get on the river with all this rain we’ve had and sort out my Pike gear for winter .Till the next time .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Du-XU7QeLpE/YVdV8JyTrgI/AAAAAAAADTs/ugJ5R-Jqsv02wTmf0OBj8T9K2lm7aorSgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/F2D7391B-A630-44DB-BF00-B2CF984FF158.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Du-XU7QeLpE/YVdV8JyTrgI/AAAAAAAADTs/ugJ5R-Jqsv02wTmf0OBj8T9K2lm7aorSgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/F2D7391B-A630-44DB-BF00-B2CF984FF158.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-54871699263612951072021-09-13T08:49:00.002-07:002021-09-13T08:49:08.025-07:00Moss Farm Fishery 12-9-21<p> So another invite from crescent angling club to fish another match, this time on April’s roadside.Last time I fished there it was a fairly new fishery with only 2 waters , now it’s overgrown and untidy .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ISZenlNy1eo/YT9w8K50uNI/AAAAAAAADTc/MhGbk5x6Qz4o8pNV1B0I9lJOlZf_72wRACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/843DC975-31CD-4D44-BAFD-949AA55F11A3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ISZenlNy1eo/YT9w8K50uNI/AAAAAAAADTc/MhGbk5x6Qz4o8pNV1B0I9lJOlZf_72wRACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/843DC975-31CD-4D44-BAFD-949AA55F11A3.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>This was my swim of which I started out on bomb and pellet to the far bank .I kept plugging away pinging pellets with only one carp for my efforts .I decided to try my pole line at 8metres.First put in and a lovely tench, followed by a crucian and a lovely mirror carp, then nothing .It was a difficult day all round from whispers up and down the bank .The rain arrived so it was brolly up .</p><p>I managed another lovely common eventually but couldn’t get a consistent run of fish .At 3pm I could see carp on the far bank so decided to fish the tip again .I hooked 2 carp that came of followed by 3 nice carp .As I cast out again quickly it was all out , I knew I had a not bad weight but knew it wouldn’t get me in the prizes .</p><p>1st Kevin 27Lb</p><p>2nd Alan 22Lb</p><p>3rd Mike 21Lb</p><p>Me 19 lb 10</p><p>Close but no cigar , till the next time .</p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-77458621280323919472021-08-22T13:07:00.001-07:002021-08-22T13:07:09.992-07:00Crescent Angling club match 22-8-21<p> Well today I was invited on a club match the venue and a new lake I haven’t fished at moss farm called Amanda’s .I always remember this lake as it was Disabled and kids lake when I first visited moss farm many years ago .I drew peg 7 facing the corner of the island . Plan of attack was the pole 3 plus 2 and a 2 plus 2 swim.Bait would be maggot and micros . I also set up the bomb rod to fish up to the island , pinging 8mm pellets .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kFL2bs6e978/YSKrO2wyYCI/AAAAAAAADSw/StPfByMXCTIDW6ZGOTO9LjVB1ykaAyZfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/7BDB8570-78BE-407F-B385-5C0639BFE7C7.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kFL2bs6e978/YSKrO2wyYCI/AAAAAAAADSw/StPfByMXCTIDW6ZGOTO9LjVB1ykaAyZfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/7BDB8570-78BE-407F-B385-5C0639BFE7C7.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aUTm6YspmAU/YSKrO3nOErI/AAAAAAAADSs/xuIZUzabUiAjjMzqAksSqAmA6tpnttlPgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/F151C09B-770F-40B8-9BC2-17277FF8FC67.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aUTm6YspmAU/YSKrO3nOErI/AAAAAAAADSs/xuIZUzabUiAjjMzqAksSqAmA6tpnttlPgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/F151C09B-770F-40B8-9BC2-17277FF8FC67.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>This was my swim .<div>I wanted to fish the pole long to the island but my back was so stiff I couldn’t hence I decided to fish short and atrack island with the bomb rod.Decided to fish the bomb rod for the first hour or so then switch to the pole.It took about 30 minutes before a flurry of bites of decent carp which resulted in 2 hook pulls close in and I was snapped by a big carp.I decided then to go on the 2 plus 2 line which I managed a lonely roach for my efforts .I switched back to the bomb rod and first cast a carp. Then over the next hour I was smashed up 4 times by the carp resulting in no fish .The on and off rain had stopped and the sun was coming out . I switched to my 3 plus 2 line and managed Rudd , ide and a few perch .So I switched lines mid afternoon and still nothing on that line I reverted back to the other line.I was catching only small fish till a decent carp turned up and smashed me up, rig was ruined so the last 34 minutes I went on the bomb rod and took 4 more carp.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2xl88s4pRUU/YSKtSIxuGjI/AAAAAAAADS8/9ex3wDFbFiYyoLB6ieQ2aKadV1RM0w7qgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/CD92DCA1-E7B9-4DC7-AC6D-10D96C84C05A.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2xl88s4pRUU/YSKtSIxuGjI/AAAAAAAADS8/9ex3wDFbFiYyoLB6ieQ2aKadV1RM0w7qgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/CD92DCA1-E7B9-4DC7-AC6D-10D96C84C05A.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div>Waiting for the tip to pull round again .The match was over .Think I could of done better but that’s fishing .</div><div>1st Alan 75lb</div><div>2nd Eddie 39 lb 1</div><div>3rd Steve 38lb 9</div><div><br /></div><div>I finished with 14lb 6 .</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7qqShE31MQ/YSKt9IeFn9I/AAAAAAAADTE/b1vFN6YSrz0I9xiIE8nVp38LXV_BztQHwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/0805ECAE-2ED3-49BC-8FD5-3B38DA97F9DA.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7qqShE31MQ/YSKt9IeFn9I/AAAAAAAADTE/b1vFN6YSrz0I9xiIE8nVp38LXV_BztQHwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/0805ECAE-2ED3-49BC-8FD5-3B38DA97F9DA.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div>Meant to post this last week , not a year old and perished and I keep them in darkness when not in use.Guru catapult , anyone else had the same issue ?</div><div><br /></div><div>Tight lines , till the next time , stay safe .<br /><p><br /></p></div>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-32956697682133359462021-08-16T03:18:00.000-07:002021-08-16T03:18:02.812-07:00First time on the river 15-8-21<p> Well my first barbel session of the season, I know I’m late . I normally prefer mid July but as it was hot I don’t like to fish for barbel during high temps, and yeah w we had loads of rain to follow . Tonight looked good loads of cloud cover , slight breeze with drizzle in the air . Started of one rod downstream and one up stream , I fished a boilie and a pellet and pva bags . It was a lovely evening sat there relaxing watching the clouds changing formation and waiting for the sun to go down and hoping for a big 3 foot twitch. As darkness fell I moved both rods , one to the middle of the river and one further upstream .Still not a tap , knock or twitch only the wind moving the tips .Right at the death I had a few twitches struck and fish on, never saw it as it fell of at the net , hometime .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypMABPpJATg/YRo7MJ7CCkI/AAAAAAAADSg/OBuW9hROLAo4ATg-K9mBR-7ExgxcGaxnwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/26C422FB-CDEB-469E-BE33-06D58B66C410.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypMABPpJATg/YRo7MJ7CCkI/AAAAAAAADSg/OBuW9hROLAo4ATg-K9mBR-7ExgxcGaxnwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/26C422FB-CDEB-469E-BE33-06D58B66C410.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Tight lines till next time , scary Sky.</p><p><br /></p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-3005377986591122562021-06-29T10:40:00.000-07:002021-06-29T10:40:00.097-07:00Bradshaw Fishery No6 26-6-21<p> Not fished this lake for over 10 years and today was a match with the breaking surface crew.I drew peg 6 and was happy being where I was shaded even though it was a warm day .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G7-8zUHY9e8/YNtGZC4iAGI/AAAAAAAADSI/L1cFtL1MUykTLQOdcTITNgsFcohCkL4RQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/C76B82BF-4CAB-43F5-975E-C4C47DC5195D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G7-8zUHY9e8/YNtGZC4iAGI/AAAAAAAADSI/L1cFtL1MUykTLQOdcTITNgsFcohCkL4RQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/C76B82BF-4CAB-43F5-975E-C4C47DC5195D.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><p>I started the match fishing 10metres to the front of the island ,I fed micros and maggot and fished over the top with corn .I took one F1 and had a rig smashed later . I stuck at it for 2 hours with one fish to show for my effort.</p><p>I decided to switch to bomb and pellet and managed 2 more F1,s.As the two anglers were catching shallow I switched too the pellet wag.I couldn’t get the fish going and decided for another method hoping I could catch .I switched too the slow sinking feeder with over wet micros and pellet hook bait .it wasn’t long before the tip was ripping around. The fish came in spells of 3 or 4 I just kept plugging away .</p><p>I was hoping for a mad last hour but it slowed down and I think I’d done enough for a place .</p><p>1st Dave 90lb</p><p>2nd Greg 77 lb 4</p><p>3rd Me 28-9</p><p>Till the next time stay safe .</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-54808415099859331442021-06-14T11:55:00.005-07:002021-06-14T11:55:42.427-07:00Moss farm fisheries match 13-6-21<p> Well I’ve not been out since April due to building a shed and as being a reserve for fishing here with crescent angling club this is one of two matches I have this month and with the rivers opening I’m itching to get on there .</p><p>So I drew peg 11 , I wanted peg 1 but my mate Eddie drew it .Plan of attack micros and white maggots on the pole and pinging 8mm pellets to far bank on tip rod with the bomb.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cC2dx8AoEj0/YMej8d3T9eI/AAAAAAAADRs/4KbE9XujhhYAeVvpixeGUbflChUkK0oawCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/4AC6FC44-B739-4D8B-97F6-64AC98B3DF4C.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cC2dx8AoEj0/YMej8d3T9eI/AAAAAAAADRs/4KbE9XujhhYAeVvpixeGUbflChUkK0oawCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/4AC6FC44-B739-4D8B-97F6-64AC98B3DF4C.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><p>Fishing to the aerator and 2 margin swims was where I was at today.I was going to fish 14.5m but forgot my pole rollers 🤔.I bumped the first 3 fish off then managed a roach of which I dropped back in the water , not a great start eh. I finally got them going with a few roach and skimmers and a nice bream.I switched from the pole to the tip for an hour then back to the pole .The day wore on and the temperature was getting hotter , enjoyed the breeze whilst it lasted .Last hour and I tried my margin swims and one roach . Decided on an all out attack to the far bank pinging pellets and I got snapped with a vicious pull.I managed a mirror carp about 3 lb then on all out I netted a nice mirror. A difficult task it’s going to be as it’s a vast water and all the information I’ve picked up location of them is going to be difficult . It’s a long walk so travelling light is the key .I’m interested in the carp aswell so I won’t say no to a bonus carp on this mission .</p><p>I set up today in a swim fishing 60 yards out on both rods, after feeling the first cast down I was getting around 5 foot with a solid donk .Bait wise I’ll be using small Boilie , pellet and corn .On the feed I’m using an esp large method feeder with mainline fusion pellet .</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2d7LPA9yvjE/YGopiO86DKI/AAAAAAAADPk/3JB3r09LMCMLCvvU0lmxDmbjBIfyvcWfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/0CCBA77F-8BB5-43A9-AEA7-BCC505647777.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2d7LPA9yvjE/YGopiO86DKI/AAAAAAAADPk/3JB3r09LMCMLCvvU0lmxDmbjBIfyvcWfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/0CCBA77F-8BB5-43A9-AEA7-BCC505647777.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>A vast amount of water in front of me .I was casting regular every 30 minutes clipped up to my spots .The day was a mixed bag ,cool first thing this morning which cleared for a brief spell of sunshine with a light wind of the back of me.As the day wore on it turned into a cross wind from right to left putting a nice chip on the water .Despite all my efforts the day finished and I will be back .</p><p>Tight lines , till the next time </p><p>Stay safe </p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7387810245225870948.post-67512063268338244802020-12-26T04:41:00.003-08:002020-12-26T04:41:42.195-08:00Dream Team back Together 20-12-20<p> Well it’s nearly 9 months since me and Chris have fished together since the end of the river season in March and havnt been out since due to Chris becoming a Dad to a Son and obviously Covid .So we managed to get a roach session in before Xmas. We fished a big double peg fishing two rods on maggot feeder helicopter rigs . It was a slow start and then the fish came to me and not Chris .I had lots of small roach, skimmers, a couple of roach knocking on the pound mark and only a bream for Chris . A great catch up having been so long , felt like an eternity , but yes the Dream team are back </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xt1DPozgZAE/X-cvC907_ZI/AAAAAAAADOU/I_3SRdzvlEUhEL7QnVD0EbJmCIRhmTwGQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/13B67511-910F-4322-A60C-1CBBAFC07D4A.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xt1DPozgZAE/X-cvC907_ZI/AAAAAAAADOU/I_3SRdzvlEUhEL7QnVD0EbJmCIRhmTwGQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/13B67511-910F-4322-A60C-1CBBAFC07D4A.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><p>My New pod A Chris Brown 2 rod pod, don’t think Chris noticed , must be my 15th or 116th pod I’ve owned, who knows I hate rod pods LOL.</p><p>Have a great Christmas , stay safe ,and more from the Drwam team soon .</p>Pete777http://www.blogger.com/profile/09986395980047105813noreply@blogger.com0
