Moved down river

Decided to investigate another section of the river,some great swims.River was still low with a bit of colour.Dropped into a nice swim with a good flow,wasnt long before my first bite,hit into a solid fish,then all of a sudden im locked up,i was in some snag,tried moving up river to release it,no chance.After a while i pulled for a break,time to move.Dropped into a swim further up and wasnt long before i was into my first fish,didnt really fight hard,glad to net her,rest her then pictures.Didnt weigh the fish,put her back and moved again.I had a small chub late on,thought the bites would come into darkness,but nothing.

Not a big barbel,but was really pleased after casting to the area where i got the bite,as usual fell to Pellet.

Day of work

Well had a day off so me and lee went down the river.Conditions were warm and sunny,not too hot,just nice with a breeze.As we approached the river it was low,with a bit of colour.Decided to walk up to the first bridge and fish there.Usual tactics for me,feeder on one,lead an pva bag on the other rod.Lee had two nice chub on meat,something i havnt tried.We move down to Pebble Beach,Lee had a nice eel and me a chub,time for another swim before home,mine produced nothing,Lee had a barbel in his swim.A great day and as usual good company,till the next time....................................

An Evening on the River

Last night after work decided to go to the river with my mate lee.we got there just after 5 and there was quite a few on,we dropped in two swims.after just over an hour we moved.After about 30mins lee had a take which snapped him,damn bedrock.it had just started goin dark when my bite came,the fish fought really well,rested in net,weighed ,quick photo and put her back,5 lb.Had a chub later on,but that was it,11pm and we were off,always have a good laugh with lee ...........................

A Difficult day on the River

Arrived at the river today at 7-15am,i made my way to my swim ,set up and was fishing by 8.As usual cage feeder and lead with pva bag.After an hour and a half i packed up and moved about 200 yards up river.I fished in this spot for an hour,then moved again.The river was lower than it was last week and with bright and sunny conditions wernt helping me locate any fish.A change of tactics pellet wise,decided to fish to 8mm pellets on both rods.This paid of a short time later,which turned out to be my only fish off the day,was pleased though.

I made a different paste this week and even though it worked ,i wasnt pleased with the texture,so back to drawing board on that one.

Heres one off my pva bags slid down the hook link,ive added a few pineapple pellets just as a visual,ive tried theses on the hair but havnt had a whisker on them...............................................................

Cage Feeders

I came across a website called Cage Feeders.com.I wanted some heavy duty feeders for the river.I rang Andrew who makes them and enquired the cost plus delivery,he told me he had run his stock down and would be away.I told him i wasnt in a rush so told him i would wait,then out of the blue he said he had some weight and could do them that night and post them out next day.Well they arrived today,they are stunning and as the pictures on his website,im well chuffed..........................................

New Pike Location

Where i was working today,i nipped out for lunch and as the road was a dead end,i drove to bottom of road to turn round and spotted this lovely looking stretch of canal.i quickly parked up and went for a walk.i noticed  another access from the street further down with parking and a short walk to some steps which take you on the other side of the canal,looks real pikey,roll on october..............................

Manchester Childrens Hospital

Today we finally delivered the cheque to the hospital.They were really pleased with the amount we raised.

So thats our second fund raiser,hoping to plan another one for next year.
